Do I need to put a blank if the photo is missing?
Good afternoon.
Given: an online auto parts store, some of the product cards have a photo, some do not.
Now it is implemented like this: if there is no photo, then the blank is not displayed, the product characteristics move to the left. Those. cards with photos and without photos look different
Why did they do this: why show the missing information? well, no photo and no, here is a neat product card without any stubs there. Moreover, spare parts are most often chosen by article number, and not by photo.
But how correct is this from the point of view of user experience? The eye gets used to one arrangement of information on the page, and when, for example, the price on one card is located in one place, and on the other - in another, there is a suspicion that this is wrong. There is suspicion, but there is nothing to substantiate. The "everyone does it" argument is not accepted.
Are there any opinions on this? Impact on conversion, etc.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
