What is the best way to simulate the load on the router?

Hello. Testing home routers. I would like to understand under what conditions they hang. While found out that with different. Someone hangs when checking Iperf'om 64byte packets via UDP, someone - if you pick up and download a lot of sessions via Wi-Fi. Maybe someone knows more. Many sessions were created with the tcpkali utility.
Maybe someone knows better ways? the problem is that on most home routers there is no monitor by which you can monitor the load, and you don’t even understand what exactly in the router is the bottleneck when it hangs.

The load on the router is determined by the cpu load and the number of packets per second that it can pass through itself. For home routers, there may be a limit in the number of simultaneous sessions due to weak cpu resources.
