What is the best way to organize deploy systems (python, java)?

There is a system with many servers: JBoss is running on some, somewhere just J2SE applications, a front on Python (Django), a database.
What is the best way to organize automatic deployment of all cells from SVN?
Does it make sense to update the database within a single upload or is it better to do it "manually"?
Installing an SVN client on each server and doing an update when a new version appears is not kosher.
In my professional life, I have not encountered the unloading of large multi-stage services, so I would like to know how such tasks are solved in large offices. Thank you.
