What is the best way to deploy a Kubernetes cluster on your hardware? Directly on hardware or on top of a virtualization system?

There are several local servers. Which option is preferable and why?
1. Hardware -> Virtualization -> OS Linux -> Kubernetes
2. Hardware -> OS Linux -> Kubernetes

I for the second variant, I do not see advantages in an additional layer of Virtualization.
Unless you already have cool virtualization deployed.
