What is the best programming language for erp system?

The first thing that came to mind is java. Are there alternatives?

Absolutely anyone you know. You can write on pluses, sharp, java, even python or elixir. It all depends on the area and platform.

Where java is, scala is better there :-)
But in general, the language is not so important for erp, the key point is the collection of requirements.
