I used a certified Kingston DataTraveler Workspace 32 GB flash drive, it worked perfectly with both large and small files, but the volume is small, and for 128 GB it costs about 19 thousand. I would like to take a flash drive on which Windows will work no worse with a normal price tag.

Get an external ssd if size isn't that important.

I put it on the HDD in a box with USB3. The download is relatively long, but after filling the system cache, the OS works almost indistinguishably from running from an HDD on SATA3.
