But as far as I know, they are most suitable for programs under OSX and iOS. What about other languages ​​like C++ or Java? They are also supported by Xcode, but when compared with the IDE on Windows, Visual Studio for example and Eclipse, respectively, who wins?
And what other benefits does OSX have for the programmer?
I'm just choosing between a laptop on OSX and a laptop on Windows, which will be more powerful and cheaper.

For C ++, as far as I know, OS X does not have a fairly complete analogue of Visual Studio. For Java, of course, there is Eclipse and IntelliJ IDEA.
The advantages of OS X for me personally (for about 3 years as the main system at home):
- More or less normal console, because. Unix.

- The software looks very nice, in terms of design and UX, Apple's operating system is unrivaled, IMHO.

Available for iOS development. If you want to code for iOS - without a doubt MacBook, if C-like, Java, Python - then Windows, but for Python, I would choose Linux.
