What is RAM in Windows 8.1?
After installing Windows 8.1, I noticed such a thing: RAM goes somewhere immensely. Naked launch consumes 1.5 GB of memory. I launched Process Explorer, summed up the Working Set column, it turns out that about 1 GB is occupied by processes. And where does another 500 MB go?
Are there any programs that show in detail what process / service the RAM is busy with (something like baobab for disks).

Most likely Memory-Mapped Files. You can find out more precisely using RamMap
Don't worry, the system just sees that there is free RAM and uses it for caching.
