What is others in mac and how to clear it?

Good afternoon. The macbook has a 256 SSD. If you go to the Storage information, then 116 GB is occupied by Others. I tried to look for how to clean it, but the only thing I found was to clean the cache folders and download a utility for working with memory. After installing CleanMyMac, I managed to delete 10 GB, which in general did not give a significant result.
As a result, 15% is occupied by the files I work with, and 45% by Others. Are there any options for solving this problem besides CleanMyMac or manually clearing the cache? What are these files in general?
