What is better to use for high speed wireless transmission?

I'm going to send video from a quadcopter, I looked through the options and they don't suit me at all, the picture quality is terrible (what else can you expect from analog cameras?).
Let's say I want to transmit a video stream in HD 720 compressing it in h.264 from 30fps to 500m, how realistic is this? Which radio frequency is more suitable? I will launch in open spaces.
If there are other options, I will gladly listen to suggestions.
