USB3 - information transfer rate up to 5 Gb / s at the peak.
eMMC - read speed at 250 MB / s, and write speed - at 125 MB / s
IMHO - USB is at least 2-3 times faster. But this is a specification. You will only know the actual speed by checking.
Put - try.
Again, it all depends on the discs. SSD - have about the same speed as eMMC. so there may be no growth.
Regular hdd is always slower than flash memory.
Between USB and a soldering iron, I would choose a soldering iron.
