What is app copy in iTunes connect?

Hello. Tell me what do copies of the application mean in iTunes connect?
There is an application - I see that copies of the application are -5 and sales are 1. I used to think that copies of the application show the number of copies purchased. But then why are the scores different?

App copies is the number of downloads. The person bought, deleted, and then downloaded again, restoring the purchase. Or I bought it on the iPhone, and then downloaded it on the iPad too ... I hope I explained it intelligibly ...
