What is a TV receiver for?
In general, there is an antenna from mts, the cable is connected to their box, and it is via hdmi to the TV. I want to get rid of her. The question arose, if I buy a thing called a TV receiver, can I generally turn off this cable TV from the mts and watch some channels through it? Do you still need an antenna to do this?

The box from MTS is a TV receiver, only for DVB-S streams and a built-in chip for descrambling (read the decryption of a paid stream). You can connect an ordinary terrestrial antenna and watch TV through another input.
You can also directly into the TV set - without extra boxes (if the TV set supports it) - then a CAM module with an access card is plugged into it (a smart card with a bank-type chip). If the receiver allows you to connect a CAM module or there is a place for a card, then it can work. Must support DVB-C standard
