I have been programming for myself for about two years now (mainly in C++/Qt and Java), a month ago I finally realized that with my experience (more precisely, lack of experience), no one needs me as a C++ programmer. I sent resumes to hundreds of cantors but the result is zero.
This state of affairs still forced me to take up the web, not that I don’t like it, I just don’t like the prospect of messing around with HTML and CSS. In general, I studied PHP, tinkered with yii2, sort of figured out HTTP, pulled up HTML and CSS, played around with JavaScript and jQuery, you can, of course, continue to study a shitty cloud of technologies, but I don’t see the point in this until I start writing a normal project.
In general, I’m sitting now thinking about what I can write so interesting that I wouldn’t be ashamed to show the employer and put it on github, but alas, there are no ideas. Can someone make a website for free? But to whom? I gave freelancing offers but no one even answered there.
Can you tell me something?

Get C++ or Java. As I understand it, it’s closer to you, since I used it for myself .. For two years, I made something. And what does it mean "forced me to do the web"? If you constantly go out of compulsion, you will not go far.

The web is just php, isn't it? But what about ruby, golang, python, even java and c++ (.Net)??!
Don't want to mess around with html and css, just do the server side.
And restApi can be done for anything (at least for exe toys)
