What hardware for a home server?
It so happened that for some time I stopped following what was happening in IT and now it has again become important for me to assemble my home server, I was already going to choose the classic mother and related hardware, but after reading a little I realized that everyone is now going to single-board Rasberry Pi-like computers, and I'm not very good at them. For sim I ask for help.
What you need:
Network 1Gb.
Web server
DLNA, SMB, FTP
Torrent downloader.
file sharing server.
Media server with transcoding for movies and photos from the camera.
Possibility to fasten 2 or more SATA screws for RAID and backup of some folders.
I would like to have a reserve for the future or the possibility of expansion, because. maybe someday they will get around to creating video surveillance and virtualization may still be required, but this is more of a wishlist and maybe I will never get to them. From these inputs, what would you recommend?

Take any modern mITX with Intel Celeron. 2-4 sata, video hardware acceleration, often two 1Gbps network cards, power supply to taste
Media server with transcoding for movies and photos from the camera. What the **** is a single-payer?!
I assembled about twenty micro-machines for a variety of tasks (routers, servers, NAS, cash registers, terminals, media centers, on-board PCs) based on
GIGABYTE GA-C1037
www.gigabyte.ru/products/page/mb/ga-c1037un-eurev_20
plus mITX case - I always took this FOXCONN RS-233:
tekct.ru/sborka_mitx.htm
The resulting product not only pulls all the tasks assigned to it, but also proved to be a good office computer.
