What happens if you install RAM with a higher frequency than the bus allows?

I have a motherboard, the RAM (DDR3) buses of which do not support a frequency of more than 8 Gb and 1333 MHz.
I want to install two sticks of RAM at 16 Gb and 1600 MHz.
What will be the result?
P.s. tried googling but couldn't find an answer...

1) check if the motherboard supports these "two 16GB each", if not a gaming one - very unlikely, it is advisable to check up to "max memory in the connector", i.e. two slots of 8 are ok, and one of 16 will not even see 8.
2) check if the processor supports (on the Intel website): non-server processors are well limited from above - for example, only 64 gigabytes
3) check the operating voltage of the memory (1.5 - 1.65 may differ)
if the slave voltage and percent are compatible, then there will be 1333 frequency and the volume that the motherboard supports, if the slot supports the
difficulty in such manipulations is that the specification of the motherboard is not always clear to the end (different batches, etc. ), so it may not grow together in practice that it is necessary to grow together on paper

Found this question by accident while searching for a similar topic. All of your answers were incorrect.
The frequency of the memory controller sets the limit of the real frequency of the RAM, that is, 1333 MHz, but the RAM has such a thing as the effective frequency, it is indicated as 1333/1600/1866/2133 on the memory modules, the real frequency is always half the effective frequency, which means that for a bus for example 1066 MHz - the fastest RAM will be 2133 (1066 real). A vivid example, the i7 2600 quietly works with 2133 memory with a 1066/1333 MHz controller, modern UEFI often displays the load of the memory controller and it can be clearly seen that with 3200 MHz RAM, the 3200 MHz controller load is indicated as 50%, that is, half of the effective frequency.
