What happens if two access points have the same SSID?

What happens if another access point with the same SSID gets within the radius of one wifi access point? Their BSSIDs (MAC addresses) will be different, but how will users (let's say on a mobile phone) be able to tell them apart? When you select an access point to connect, will both SSIDs of different access points be displayed?

One lights up. The one that is stronger.
I have 2 points in my apartment - an optical modem and another router at the other end in AP mode, connected to the modem by a wire.
With seamless WiFi, I didn’t fool around, and it works fine.

Nothing bad will happen. Client devices can handle such an event in different ways: my phone shows both dots, appending for one at the end(2)
