Hello, I have a problem with an HP Pavilion dv6700 laptop, or rather with its integrated video card - Nvidia GeForce 8400GS
The problem is that the laptop works quite normally, but the available video memory is only 11mv out of 256mv. Also, the DirectX 3D driver of any version, even DX7, is not installed (it will be installed, but miraculously disappears without a trace after installation)
What could it be?

Reinstall the drivers, start the service, check the autoload, did you update the firewood?
