What happened to the file select function in google chrome?
Good afternoon. When communicating on forums, there is often a need to attach a file to the message. This is implemented through the "Select file" button, when clicked, a dialog opens in which you can specify the actual file that you want to attach. For this, I used a certain "feature" - instead of pressing this button, I dragged the necessary file directly onto it from the file manager or from the desktop. It was convenient, no need to rummage through folders again, no need to break your eyes looking for the desired file in the previews. Recently (just a couple of weeks ago) this "feature" stopped working. When dragging a file onto the button, this file simply opens in the browser (if it is an image or a text file) or it starts downloading, if it is, for example, *.exe (this was established as a result of experiments, such behavior of the browser is generally beyond my understanding). What happened and how to fix it?
