What happened to the data?

When connecting the Asus Transformer tablet to a laptop, data from the device was lost. When reconnecting, the data was visible on Windows but not visible on the tablet itself.
When trying to reset the data from the tablet to the PC, a message was displayed that such an operation was impossible.
Asus was not formatted.
Some directories recovered on their own (after some time), but no files were found in them.
Who faced such a problem, please help. Thanks in advance!
