What frameworks or libraries to choose for developing an Android client for a RESTful API?

The task is to develop from scratch a full-fledged social application for Android to work with the REST API.
News feed, forum, chat, etc.
I wonder if there are ready and tested framework layout schemes (Anotation, ORM etc.)?
For development I use AndroidStudio and Gradle. For prototyping I sometimes use AndroidAnotation. But for production, I'm still afraid.

The question is not very clear, but I think you need Retrofit
