What format to upload videos to YouTube?

I make videos from computer games, then I process the video in Sony Vegas, render in WMV format, the videos turn out cool and high-quality, but when uploading these videos to YouTube, the video loses its quality. The question is: In what format and with what settings should the video be rendered so that the video does not lose its quality when uploaded to YouTube?

I would recommend you process (render) video in MP4 format . Output Format choose MainConcept AVC/AAC . You need to select the preset "Intenet HD 720p/1080p" and set the following values in the settings of this preset:

Frame size: HD 720/1080
Profile: High
Frame rate: according to project settings
Variable bit rate:
Number of slices: 4
Number of reference frames: 2

You can also select Constant bit rate and set the value to 28,000,000 or 50,000,000 depending on the length of your video. I recommend using Constant bit rate for short videos. It also makes sense to activate Two Pass . In this case, your video will be, so to speak, processed in two passes and thus the blurry details will become less blurry. Attention , use the Two Pass option only for short videos, as this is a rather lengthy process.
If you want your video to be processed faster try Sony AVC/MVC preset Internet 1280x720-30p/1920x1080-30p. Use the default settings. You will need to change this:
Bit rate: 20,000,000 (max value 25,999,360)
Number of slices: 4
Set the rest of the settings depending on your project settings.
