What firmware to install on HTC Desire HD?

The device is HTC Inspire 4G (aka HTC Desire HD), I immediately installed RCMix 3D Runny 2 years ago, I still live on it. Over time, everything began to slow down, I want to rearrange the firmware.
1) Does it make sense to switch from Android 2 to 4 on my device?
I remember since then that there was an RCMix Energized Blue Edition firmware on 2.3.5 that saved the battery well - can I put it on?
2) If you install the 4th Android - which firmware to choose? Criteria - work stability, interface response speed, full hardware functionality. Found on Habré ( habrahabr.ru/post/153209/) a post about JellyTime (from the comments I realized that if you put it, then choose R15) - maybe it?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

While I had DHD, I used MIUI v5 (in the catalog - unofficial - 3.12.6). I recommend her.
You can also look here . In general, Android 4+ on DHD runs fine, does not slow down. Maybe even better than stock.

Thanks for the recommendation!
For now, I decided to stay on the 2nd Android - after hesitating between RCMix Energized and Cyanogen 7.2, I chose Cyanogen.

If you decide to stay on Android 2.x, be sure to check out MIUI 2.4.13. It is absolutely better than Cyanogenmod v7.
