What exactly does wp_cron.php do?
There is a site on WP. The site sometimes takes a very long time to load. After reviewing the load logs, I realized that the wp_cron.php script creates wild loads. Disabled it through the config - the site began to fly.
I sinned on a crooked plugin, but no, cron used only 1 plugin and disabling its task did not affect the gluttony of wp_cron.
So it loads some kind of internal process in WP. What exactly does this script do for wp itself? Is there a list of functions that it runs? It feels like something is stuck there.
But nearby on the same hosting there is another site on WP and there are no problems with it ... Both are the latest versions of the engine.
