The question is very interesting and revealing. This needs to be taken seriously and carefully. In fact, he is somewhat strange. The project manager, by definition, should not be involved in it. After all, he is the "head" of the project and must implement it. And if the manager's task is to "join the project", then there is one of two things: either the manager is trying to get paid for the "appearance" of some work in the project, which in itself is going well, or he is only a formal manager.
1) charisma and leadership are the main qualities for implementation, the practice of general drinking allows you to reveal your qualities to the manager and integrate tightly into the team.
2) well, if you are not a fool, then just talk to people, you will understand how they treat you, why are there any evasions here?
3) I give full information about the project in the docks and introduce the team
The guys from Stratoplan made an excellent course on how to become a manager and develop further. And, of course, in the course they are taught to solve such issues. But you need to understand that specific actions depend on many factors: on the team itself, on the manager, on the established processes in the company, and much more. Now your questions are posed in such a way that it is impossible to answer them unambiguously.
For starters, as mentioned above, a project manager is a person who creates a project from scratch. And one of its functions is the function of hiring people or choosing personnel for your team. If the team already exists, and you are a new person here, you should understand who the leader is in the team, do not close his mouth, but often listen carefully, listen to his advice, and help the team implement your project. Further, over time, you will earn authority. Remember one thing - for your guys, be ready to tear anyone's throat, but you yourself should punish .. In addition, the manager should be a psychologist, organizer, be sociable and inquisitive, as well as understand what the team is doing, who exactly and why. And - English, fluent English!!! There are really a lot of factors. I myself am retraining to work in IT with sales in B2B (director of a representative office, opening and developing a business from scratch in the region), and I am going to apply my skills. It will be interesting to see the opinion of current project managers and in my post.
