In general, icons are something between design and illustration. In a small drawing, you need to clearly convey a certain meaning, and even without words - this is a design. But the drawing should be harmonious and beautiful, or something - here the skills of an illustrator may be needed. The lesson is fun, so, well, practice rules. You can take other people's packs and redraw them in your own way, learn and adopt some drawing tricks or ideas for icons.
