What direction of IT to succumb to in order to be closer to management? That is, to be not just a programmer and move along the career path to the IT director, but to have “universal” managed positions at the top of the ladder? For example, where is the top in the "business analyst" career?

It seems to me that it is quite possible to grow from an analyst even to the director of a department. It all depends on you personally and on the company in which you work. Theoretically, everything is possible, but in practice there are many factors that affect career advancement.
