What causes intermittent freezes in Windows 8?

Lately, the freezes of a computer running Windows 8 have become more frequent. Everything happens like this: everything freezes for a few seconds (about 5-10), then lets go. After the first hang, cursors fly off, i.e. it saves the icon that it had (if the text was being edited at that moment, then this icon will remain, for example, if you remove the cursor from the input field), the cursor behaves very strangely on interactive elements: the click point is shifted, i.e. the icon can remain the same, but it is very difficult to jump from one place to another, exactly to get somewhere, because you don’t understand where the cursor is really now. After a few minutes, the freeze is repeated, and so on in a circle. I watched the activity of processes, the work of the disk - I did not notice any strange behavior. Has anyone had the same problem and how did you solve it?

@Boxxy

It happened when the RAM was completely clogged. In combination with the load on the hard drive on which the OS is installed, horror was lagging.
Maybe you have slow RAM or not enough?
