What can you read about the wiki concept and methods for analyzing and structuring information?

There are two questions. The first one is quite simple:
1. What can you read about the concepts of Wiki engines, Wiki itself and understand what is the difference between generations, i.e. get acquainted with the tasks set by the authors and those who are moving the new in the modern world.
2. Information. There is a lot of it in office work and it is all monotonous - in the form of dozens of tables and sheets of text (contracts, calculations, write-off forms, etc., etc.). In connection with this, the question arose of planning not only and not so much time, but about tools that help track your current tasks and assignments (spoken orally), preferably with the help of local tools. And also about ways and methods to collect, structure, process and analyze general information, not only about tables and contracts, but also about relationships in the business environment.
Thank you.

If, in addition to storing information, you also need to work, set tasks, discuss, etc. Then, IMHO, not a wiki is better for you, but a decent project management system like Basecamp . Everything's there. Try a trial.
