What can you do with an old computer?
Use as a home server:
  • Torrent download
  • media server
  • Print server
.
what else can you do with it?
Give away:
  • grandmother ("bah, look, skype, you can video calls with grandchildren")
  • to the orphanage
  • housemates (post an ad in the entrance)
  • low-income families (announcement in the entrance, or go around several schools, ask them to put up an announcement about free transfer of a computer to a needy family, + teachers usually know which children are from low-income families)
  • to the clinic or hospital (from the comments)
.
I want to learn how to install Windows, Unix, Linux on it
What for? For tests and experiments, it is easier to use virtual machines, such as Oracle Virtual Box.
.
UPD. More options, inspired by an article from habr https://habr.com/post/418385/
  • Sell on Avito (in that article from Habr, a person bought a rarity for 2000 rubles)
  • Play old games

@2ord

The parameters are similar to the Raspberry Pi.
It is better to install some server edition of Linux, without a graphical interface (you can OpenSUSE, CentOS, Debian), and study the operation of the OS on it. Customize to suit your needs. You can install a web server and write your own web application, or just a site parser, etc.
Use lynx, vim, mc, etc.
I think that this experience will be useful in the future. At least it worked for me.
