What can be installed on the PowerBook G4?

The obsession to buy a used PowerBook G4, respectively, with a PowerPC processor, periodically rolls up.

The key question is whether it will be possible to put modern GNU / Linux there with the appropriate environment, including the latest or penultimate versions of Mozilla Firefox (yes, so that Flash works, preferably), LibreOffice, JDK Java 8 (or at least 7) and IntelliJ Idea. For complete happiness, of course, you also need Skype, but I can do without it, but without the above, the computer practically does not make sense.

They are also interested in alternative operating systems, but this is not so important anymore - I want to use it as the main work and entertainment (the main entertainment is watching videos) machines.

A quick google gives this link: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PowerPCDownloads. Lubuntu 14.04 or [K|L|X]ubuntu 12.04.
Flash, as I understand it, will only be through Gnash.

And what is the meaning of such masochism? You can install almost any Linux with PPC support (centos/debian/ubuntu/opensuse/arch further everywhere), you can also install netbsd/openbsd.
As a former owner, by today's standards, the performance is small, the battery too, the memory is microscopic.
It’s better to buy a white macbook, I’m writing from this one (2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB). Under the new yosemite it works fine, both Windows and Linux are spinning in parallel. Playable and pluggable :-)
