Should a student buy a MacBook Air 13" 2019?

I plan to buy a minimum configuration: 8/128
The budget is limited. Of the tasks: write a lot of text, watch a movie, sometimes play browser games like Tanki Online, maybe download 3-4 movies on a trip.

• is there enough memory for the tasks described above?

• will the poppy still work well after 3-4 years?

• is it worth paying extra for a year/two warranty? (Only 3 months are free. But I heard that due to problems with the butterfly there is a 4-year keyboard repair guarantee. However, I don’t know if it works in Ukraine)

MacOS has never been used, but according to reviews - the simplest and most convenient interface. I did not find analogues in quality, weight, size and battery life.

Enough memory, but depending on what. Operational (which is 8GB) is quite for the tasks you described, but the disk size of 128GB may not be enough and you will have to save money (do not store movies on a laptop, but store them on an external usb drive). After 3-4 years, the MacBook battery will lose capacity and will no longer hold 10-12 hours of operation without recharging (maximum 2-3 hours, or even less), but it can be replaced at any service for adequate money. The warranty for a MacBook is usually 1 year from the date of purchase and during this year you can pay extra for two additional years of warranty (so in Russia). It’s worth paying extra to eliminate problems with the keyboard for 3 years (I haven’t heard about 4 years) or wait another half a year and in the summer (in June) they will update the MacBook and remove the butterfly.

Macbook Air will be enough for you with your head for such tasks. In fact, you will have 90Gb of memory at your disposal, you can download dozens of films without problems, it is unlikely that you will download 4k (because it makes no sense), and FHD in good quality usually takes 4-8GB, although 720p is enough for such a screen IMHO!

Will the Mac still work well after 3-4 years?

No problem. Macbooks from 10 years ago are still in demand. They work great so far...

Is it worth paying extra for a year/two warranty?

Only after reading the reviews in advance about the store. This warranty is from the store, and how they fulfill their warranty conditions - you need to find out only in the reviews! Apparently, you want to buy a non-official macbook (which is sold in moyo, eldorado, citrus, etc.), which means that the Apple guarantee will not be valid in Ukraine in the official service, in the event of a breakdown, the nearest official service that will undertake to repair your macbook under warranty free Poland or better in Germany. Well, there are services that, for a fee ($150), take your MacBook to Europe for repairs and bring it back. Macbook Air 2019 has an extended keyboard warranty, but this is only in Apple services, your store may simply refuse to repair when the warranty period from them (3 months) expires.
