What can be added to my laptop to improve performance?

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E120 . I don't have the money to buy a new one at the moment, but I want to improve performance. I want to understand what else can I buy to improve its performance? Memory? Hard on SSD? Or something else?
UPD :
I don't have the skill to calculate CPU + Memory + HDD performance. Hence my difficulty in deciding what I can do. My questions:
1. Already have 2 GB of memory. Should I "throw away" these slats and insert new 2 slats of 4 GB each?
2. Already have 2 GB of memory. Can I quite leave these 2 GB and buy new memory bars?
3. If you buy an SSD, how will this affect performance? How good?

@EvilsInterrupt

buy up to 8 gigs of memory and an SSD. There is nothing more you can do.

If you plan to buy a new one later, then buy an SSD - you won't regret it. Memory 2GB, are you kidding? Of course, buy in addition, at least up to 8GB (2 modules of 4GB each).

RAM - 2x4, SSD - and the flight will be normal.
forum.ixbt.com/topic.cgi?id=17:44483 - here they write that "Another nuance for those who want to upgrade the hard drive: only slim HDDs (7 mm thick) are suitable for this laptop"
I would also advise taking memory " with installation" - that is, installed, immediately turned on - if everything works - good ... Because there are times when working memory does not want to run on separate instances ...
