What breakthroughs have been made in the eyewear industry recently?

I decided to change my glasses and thought: what's new in the industry? Everything in general looks somehow unchanged. All sorts of high-tech things seem to happen only with darkening glasses.

In general, efforts were directed at lightening the lenses, which was achieved through the use of plastics, anti-reflex coatings. As well as any protection against scratches, water-repellent coatings, etc.
Comparing points bought for ~1t.r. rubles just in case and fully "charged" for 20t.r. for every day I can say that the amount justified itself. The eyes get tired less, the fear of scratching is not something that is not there, but the protection of plastic lenses brings them closer to the usual glass in terms of negligence in the choice of wiping material. For example, google Rodenstock lenses, their site describes in detail most of the latest achievements in the industry.
The whole "hi-tech" is welling up even on just "diopters", even on "photochroms" (chameleon).
And outwardly, yes, nothing has changed much, except that the frame has become easier to find.

Darkening glasses, these are probably chameleon lenses.
There are also anti-reflective lenses, hardened (with a special layer) lenses, etc. Although I am not a professional in this. I just broke my glasses not so long ago, I ordered new ones.
