How to keep your eyes healthy?

Hello everyone, I ask you not to scold too much for the under-post in the life-balance style.

A couple of weeks ago I noticed that my eyes no longer claim to be "falcon" (especially in the evenings). I went to the ophthalmologist, checked my eyesight - to my luck, it still holds 100%, but the sediment remains. The ophthalmologist prescribed a standard list of pills for all diseases - vitamins for the eyes (as I understand it, a banal placebo), taufon (I didn’t find anything in the annotation other than cataract treatment), artificial tears (I don’t suffer from dry eye disease, I blink quite often). As a result: I drip, but I don’t feel any particular improvement, either due to overstrain at work, or poor light, my vision drops in the evening, visually I see worse.

I ask for advice from old-timers and smart gray-haired programmers, how do you deal with a gradual deterioration in vision? Or let the situation take its course? (PS: I do gymnastics for the eyes, breaks every hour too). Are there any proven old-fashioned methods that can hold your horses a little.

Anita Kovaleva , Good afternoon.
I do not answer any of the criteria that you put forward for the focus group, but this question is also relevant for me. Here are the results of my "search".
1. This is the quality of indoor lighting!!!
a) Only incandescent lamps and under the ceiling, and not in a table lamp directed at the monitor.
2. Monitor settings!!!
a) Brightness - MINIMUM !!! (I have - 9% !!!), but depending on the manufacturer, at a given brightness level, many budget monitors have the effect - PWM
. I have a voltage stabilizer and TEST WITH A PENCIL the monitor passes perfectly with a level of - 9%))
b) Contrast - MAXIMUM !!!, I have 87%
"Whatever the eye" - setNatural Color Pro
3) Exclude - infectious diseases affecting the mucous membranes (including the eyes). Be sure to have at least 3 different ophthalmologists)).
On the way to the gynecologist (well, this is by default))
4) Dry eye - in 70% of the population (but only after 40)), but if you work at a PC for 8 hours at risk, the problem is relevant even after 24 (well, if there are also genetic bugs, then ....)
Ie drops - YES. ((
5) Finish the day - reading, but EXCLUSIVELY ON PAPER - 1 - 1.5 hours !!!
