What books would you recommend for an initial learning of programming?

I have recently become interested in programming, and I wanted to know what books would be best for the initial study of this activity, and if you can advise what language is best to start with.

Take a look at this list from the creators of hexlet.
I advise you to read at least 1 book in each category. Regardless of the direction in which you develop further.

frontEnd/BackEnd/Android/iOS/Win/Linux/DataBase - decide on this from the beginning, or even 3 lives will not be enough to learn

A programming language is like a woman).
Everyone has their own tastes.
If I decided to program further, I would remember Python. But not all tasks are solved on it !!!
Not for starters, but it would be nice later:
1. "Design Patterns", which is co-authored by Gamma, Helm, Johnson, Vlissides
2. Martin Fowler's Refactoring (this book is needed not only to do refactoring, but to immediately make good code I wrote so that others would not have to refactor after you)))
