What books are worth reading for the right balance of power in a dnd-like card game?

Good day, Toaster!
I have been thinking for a long time about creating my own collectible card game: with simple rules, heroes and simple mathematics. But when creating, I don’t want to start only from my empirical feelings: they say, this card should be given +2 to attack, because it has -1 to armor. I want to get away from math.
Therefore, the question arose: how to correctly calculate the cost of cards in the game, because they have so many different characteristics! I read articles about reducing all properties to one denominator (for example, to gold / silver / emeralds, etc.) and calculate from this. Can you recommend books where the emphasis is on calculating the balance in games? Or can you suggest another way to balance cards?

It all depends on the game itself. You can't just take and read the book "How to make kki successful, profitable, popular. A step-by-step algorithm without SMS and registration."
There are different approaches:
Synergy also needs to be taken into account.
The "potential" balance of the card is also important - when 99% of the players do not play it, but a tricky combination played at some tournament immediately wins the match.

Of course, one cannot fail to mention the universal formula from Blizzard and Mail.ru: the donation is directly proportional to the strength of the card and inversely proportional to its cost.
