What book would you recommend for passing the candidate's minimum in English?

Hello!
I ask for help in choosing a book for passing the candidate's minimum in English. The book should be on programming or databases.
Mandatory requirements:
- the volume of the book is at least 500 sheets
- at least 300 sheets of pure text (i.e. the rest can be occupied by pictures, code, etc.)
- not older than 5-7 years from the date of publication (i.e. from 2008 year - 2014)

You have studied at the university for 10 years (4+2+4) and don’t know that 99% of IT books in the Russian Federation are translations and you can actually take any book from Amazon on a topic of interest to you or a dissertation topic that came out later 2008? Haven't you learned how to use keyword search on Amazon in 10 years?
