New to JS? If yes, then definitely David Flanagan - JavaScript: The Definitive Guide.
Then you can Crockford - JavaScript: Good Parts, JavaScript Garden , Async JavaScript .
For Node specifically, you can of course Shelley Powers - Learning Node, but then you immediately sit down and read articles and other people's sources, because 80 percent of the express course needs to be rewritten (as well as a bunch of typos in the code itself). And in general, in fact, all the chapters are terribly chaotically presented, the topics are touched upon superficially. After chapter 8, I closed it and got into Google, it turned out to be more confusing. And yes, it's from 2011.
There are also screencasts from Ilya Kantor in Russian. And, of course, read the Node.js API
