What to read about developing a linux distribution?
I started to study linux in depth. Here I want to make a mini-distribution kit that works from RAM. I compiled the last kernel, made initrd. Now you need to somehow probably make a file system in memory, and unpack the system itself from a file on a cd disk and somehow initialize it using init. Interested in books, articles, blogs - which are described in sufficient detail about booting linux, system initialization, daemons, etc.
Googled - but it all comes down to the fact that the kernel loads the initrd, the initrd loads the main system and everyone is fine)
This is not enough for me. I watched LFS in both Russian and English, it's not that. There's basically "download the source codes, build and everything should work".
Also, services for housewives to assemble the distribution kit online - do not advise (this is generally complete crap, like tick the programs and you will have "Own distribution")
PS: I do all this Just For Fan, so don't say that ditr. a million and no one needs another. I do this for self-education and entertainment.
PS2: Interested in resources both in English and in Russian.
PS3: Thank you all for the adequate answers!)

Take a look at SystemRescueCD and see how memory work is implemented there. Read their documentation. Take a look at www.system-rescue-cd.org/Sysresccd-manual-en_How_t...
