What book about html/css would you recommend?

I have been designing simple websites for about a year now and noticed that I often come across the fact that some elementary things are a discovery for me. Only recently I began to pay attention to meta tags, etc.
Please provide a modern html/css guide to fill in the gaps.
I tried to learn from w3schools.com
But it feels the same as learning a dictionary while learning a foreign language In
general, recommend good books about web development in general, with an emphasis on frontend, but also for general concepts about the work of protocols, a server, etc. .P.
