What are the perspectives of a Java Android developer?

Starting to learn Java, I was puzzled by one question: if a Java specialist is engaged in Android development, can it turn out that in the future, from the position of the employer, this specialist will turn out to be, say, not particularly interesting for developing desktop applications?

What difference does it make, the prospects for mobile development are more than bright

Maybe Java is used, except for Android, but only in Java EE. On desktop, I don't think it will be relevant anytime soon. There are more interesting developments and technologies.
