What are the disadvantages of One-armed router?

There is a Cubietruck with one gigabit ethernet port and a managed switch (all gigabit ports) supporting 802.1Q. I want to replace the old constantly freezing router with this bundle: in vlan1 there will be a wire from the provider and Cubietruck, in vlan2 there will be CT and the local network, respectively. Cubietruck - as one-armed router and torrent/minidlna/NAS for LAN.
How viable is such a scheme? Are there any fundamental problems? It turns out that the web interface of the switch will be available in the subnet of the provider. How unsafe is it?

Quite viable for "home" use (when viewed from the client side in vlan 2, download + upload in total is limited to gigabit, although, I think, much earlier than you run into this limitation, the resources of the cubieboard will be depleted).

There are no fundamentals, only nuances. In the case of using cisco equipment, for example, I would replace vlan 1 with any other.

If available, it is insecure, with possible consequences ranging from password guessing and changing your switch settings to potential DoS attacks. As a protection, either change the settings for accessing the web interface (already mentioned management vlan, acl, etc.) or disable it altogether if it is possible to configure the switch through the console.

If high speeds are not needed, it will work. Most switches are able to hang up their management on a separate wilan, it's called management wilan, just don't give this wilan to the provider.
