What are the currently popular Game as a service platforms?

I wanted to remember my youth and play some of my favorite toys.
For example Total War Rome.
But, I don’t want to suffer at all with linux, wine, virtual machines and other things. By the time you're done, the desire will be gone.
Isn't there some sort of "as a service" platform these days where you could pay a couple of bucks and play around for a day?

OnLive seems to be still alive, but your example is not there.
Gaikai was bought by Sony for their purposes, they say that to broadcast old incompatible games to the PlayStation 4.
The problem with both services was that it was a little expensive and the ping was high for Russia (critical for shooters).
Randomly chose:
- Sleeping Dogs with addition. It costs $49.99 on OnLive. In Russian Steam 508 rubles (~$16).
- The Witcher 2. Onlive - $19.99. Steam - 499 rubles (~$16).
