What are the best Java courses?

For those who were there (if any), but you can advise even if they were not.
I'm going to sign up either for Java courses at GeekBrains, or for courses from the Polytechnic University in St. Petersburg.
And they promise a lot. In the first case, they promise practice (but there are actually not so many of them), the second has more immersion. Interested in general opinion about GeekBrains. I watched free OOP courses (I really liked it, although I already knew about OOP, but the presentation was better than in my college).

Isn't it easier to read Eckel and then Bloch, doing all the tasks, than to spend time on courses in which no one needs you, only your money is needed?

In such cases, I advise taking a single course: "how to stop looking for courses and finally start reading books and documentation."

Took Java courses here j-born.com . Already after the first block, after 2.5 months I was able to write my first code, which after 6 months turned into my own service.
