It is correctly called MonoDevelop, and then in older versions, now it is Xamarin Studio, there is absolutely nothing ingenious in it, Mono is not an analogue of Dotnet, it is intended for a different, narrow range of tasks, so you decide what kind of cross-platform you need, and why , what kind of tasks do you have, if you find it difficult to answer, then it’s definitely not worth it.
