“Programming skills” is something like a sport, daily workouts. If you quit, you lose shape, if you resume, then you get back in shape. But to be honest, unfortunately, there are no skills in applied programming - you just swim along the course that the market sets and it dictates which of your “programming skills” are currently relevant, and which ones are marked “deprecated”. Agree, to lose something that will not be relevant in the future is not such a terrible loss)
