What alternative to the MacBook Pro 16 can be found on Windows?
There is a dedicated budget for the purchase of a working laptop. The MacBook Pro 16 seems like the perfect fit.
But are there really no options from the Windows world? There are exactly.
For example, Acer ConceptD 7. But it is advertised from all the cracks in the same scenario.
Does anyone have a Dell XPS 15 or an HP Envy? thinkpad?
Unfortunately, top-segment Windows laptops always have trouble with drivers. On such devices, various marketing tricks are used with their drivers, which are not well tested and tested, as in the Apple camp. Bugs happen to everyone, but when you have 100,500 devices or 10, this difference is noticeable.
From my experience, I remember working on HP Envy. Terrible bows-and-winkels drivers put an end to the love of a laptop.
From the reviews of Yandex.Market, it became clear that many models have problems with sleep modes, when the manufacturer decides to cut down his crutch instead of S3 / S4?
Must have things:
1. Good 4k screen. Work with graphics.
2. Cuda for 3D rendering. (so MacBook doesn't quite match: Octane doesn't work)
3. Enough RAM to run Chrome. (joke)
4. Enough RAM to run 2-3-4 heavy frontends with chrome running.
Thank you!
Any comments about your experience and wrestling with drivers are welcome :)

while he is happy with him like an elephant, no problems have been noticed.
True, the touchpad is a bit short of a MacBook, although it feels very similar.
Well, a couple of times I caught myself that when I don’t look at the keyboard, my hands automatically look for Command (which is naturally not here), but they find Alt
Well, the presence of 16 gigs of RAM and pci-e ssd per terabyte out of the box make it generally top in this price segment.
UPD:I also remembered that there are no home, end, pgUp, pgDown keys on the keyboard at all. On a poppy, this is completely compensated by cmd + arrows (although you can’t scroll like that with tmux, which is sad), I haven’t found how to get out here yet. But at the same time there is both delete and backspace, on which many modern laptops save space.
God, fuck it. MacBooks are limited on all fronts. If you are not a retina fanatic, take any good (rating \ reviews) laptop with IPS and 32+ RAM, and you will have more than enough for everything. There are no super-duper technologies in the poppy, only brand and marketing.
