Website for free and forever?

I would like to raise one question regarding the creation of information sites.
The reason was one site with very cool and professional information of a narrow specialization, which was maintained by an acquaintance who ... died.
As a result, of course, both the domain and hosting, when they remain unpaid, are blown away, and the information (and even then not always and not all) is then available only in the search engine cache for some time, and if you're lucky, then in the archive.org web archive
Therefore, I thought, in order to leave behind your knowledge, it would be nice to do it in such a way that at the first non-payment to the capitalists, they would not cut it out of the information space.
Today, in theory, this can be done in a blogger, but again, then questions like "which is better, standalone or hosted" disappear, because some blogger.com/lj/wordpress.com or a social network like FB
The second is also, as it were, a little questionable, because there the information is simply given by the stream, with its own limitations. As with t.z. recognizability (more precisely, the impersonality of the interface itself and the name of the resource) and because you share the podium with different "kissels", and accordingly, even according to the sensations, the level of trust in the source becomes lower.

Therefore, the question and desire arose how to realize such a source that could live forever, and at the same time was spared from the above disadvantages?
As an ideal option (that is, so that you don’t look for this and don’t think that there might be something better), I would consider this solution:
1 subdomain as a gift “free and forever” from some giant, such as Yandex. Although it already happened, and my domain lukoie.ya.ru just died Just like the once free subdomain lukoie.mp
For example, I saw that it is possible to give such a domain here nic.eu.org
2 hosting "free and forever", like github pages or a blogger .com?
3 binding a domain to such a

PS service, you can try services like netlify.com or surge.sh, but there is no guarantee that they will live for a long time (or maybe they will, who knows) ...
You can try hosting on cloud storages, like dropbox ( http ://droppages.com)or google drive. Also such a solution, not the fact that it will be convenient.

In general, how would you implement such a task?

ZYZH option to buy a domain and buy hosting, it makes no sense to discuss here. Just like .ws which needs to be constantly validated, which is a little tricky to make out of valhalla.

Eternal and free does not happen.
Saw on what is relevant now (github pages, google sites, ucoz).
There are no free domains, only subdomains (.googlesites.com, .ucoz.ru, etc.).
Previously, there were free domains .spb.ru, .msk.ru, but now they are priced like .ru
Technologies and services will change approximately within 5-8 years.
The current hosting format will die after about this time, maybe everything will turn into containerization (drag your 1MB container across services in a couple of clicks).

nothing is eternal under the Moon.
a will indicating the person responsible, a fund for financing (donations, advertising).
In the end, if you think that your friend's work is necessary and useful, make a mirror of his site yourself. if there is no access to the domain and hosting, ask the registrar / hoster if they can renew if another person pays (often this is possible).
Publish a book and send it to libraries.

github/bitbucket
google.drive
And from the beginning - you should put up with it, if a hundred people do not need information - then it is not needed
If it is not on the wiki - it is not needed
If it was not copied - it is not needed

This is from the realm of fantasy. Someone always has to provide support.
The reason was one site with very cool and professional information of a narrow specialization, which was maintained by an acquaintance who ... died.
We negotiate with the hoster, registrar and remake personal accounts.
ps. Who the fuck are you with your website? Think about it.

The problem can be solved by the protocol codenamed HttpTorrent.
The site will live as long as there is at least one seed.
Thus, the value of information will be determined by whether it is needed by at least one person.
But there is a problem with copyright. Yes, and there is no such protocol yet.

As it was rightly noted here, nothing is eternal.
Therefore, the best option is to run such a site not alone, but together with someone. Preferably in a group. If something happens to any of you, the group will continue to maintain the site, if necessary, move it to another hosting.

Everything you need becomes popular and mirrored bloated. Need 1-3 people on earth their problem. I can't even imagine what can't be found online right now. I think it's good to replace one with another. No one is obliged to transfer your creation to new technologies in 5-10 years when they become obsolete. The only correct advice they gave you is to do everything as a community of like-minded people interested in this, and not in one
