I create a subdomain: what IP Address should I specify for Child Name Servers?

I have never had experience in managing domains, everything turned out to be confusing somehow.
1. Child Name Servers - is this a subdomain?
2. To register Child Name Servers, my registrar domains4bitcoins.com asks for Host Name and IP Address.
Host Name - as I understand it, this is my subdomain, but what IP Address should I specify?
As I understand it, I can specify any IP Address and then this incomprehensible mess somehow communicates with DNS servers, i.e. it could be a completely 3rd party IP.
But I don't have my own IP. Where to look for the default IP Address of the registrar?
3. Is there any short explanation of all these relationships, CNAME, NS, DNS, I honestly wondered how confusing everything is. Of particular interest is the question of how redirects are implemented and arranged. You need something like Domains For Dummies.

DNS is a distributed database with a strict hierarchy that translates domain names into resource records (IP, mail, etc.). NS records indicate the domain names of the DNS servers responsible for the desired record or domain. And they are needed only to transfer responsibility for the domain to another server. Also, if the name of the specified DNS server is in the same domain as the requested name, then you must specify the IP address of the DNS server. Just having an extra dot in the name does not create the need to transfer the subdomain to another server.
CNAME exists to create alternative names. If you create an entry test.example.net. CNAME www.google.com, then when you try to get the IP address of the Web server, the IP addresses of the name www.google.com will be returned. That is, test.example.net. will become an alternative name for www.google.com.
As far as I understand your situation, you do not necessarily need to create a subdomain, records sub.example.net CNAME na-west1.surge.sh.and www.sub.example.net CNAME na-west1.surge.sh.. If only a subdomain has been delegated to you and you cannot create arbitrary records, then you can find dns-hosting, full of them for free.
